Can anyone give some ballpark for engraving olive wood. Tried three times no luck. I have a spark. Thanks
If you search through the forum, you’ll likely find some good suggestions, but the Spark is new enough that you may have to translate. I think someone suggest to start with Basswood settings and go from there. I can’t remember if the Spark has basswood settings, but that might get you started.
Yes it foes and thanks for your info. There is a big learning curve but I am working on
It. I think the Spark has the same guts as the Aura but smaller. I may be wrong. Rod
Yes…the Spark and the Aura are pretty much the same…except for the size and that the Aura has a passthrough.
Thank you for confirming. Rod
I have some olive wood and it is very hard and dense. I have not cut it but I suspect it will be difficult to darken with a laser. If you put down some masking and blast hard you could get some depth and then with the masking still on, come back with a pen or sharpy and darken the area revealed if it is not dark enough and let the masking keep the marks from going outside the lines.
In some cases, the ink can get sucked up by the wood, but at least the olive wood I have, that would not happen.
Thanks for the advise. Rod
