Pass through?

Trying to figure out how the pass through works. I have a piece of material that won’t fit on the bed with the pass-through closed, but when I close the lid with the pass through open, the app still says “Lid open”. What am I missing?

I’m on GF Basic. Do I need Pro to…open the pass through??

That makes me sad.

So, hypothetically, if someone wanted to fool the machine into thinking the door was closed, any idea how that hypothetical person who is definitely not me would do that?
