Photo Engraving Breakthrough

I’ve been struggling trying to find the perfect settings for photo engraving. Working on plywood has been difficult since the natural fibres in the wood keep messing with me.
I have switched to engraving on MDF, which have proven easier. The results I’m getting now are really good. I’m able to keep the speed at a maximum 1000, allowing me to create large engravings, and still get a good result. Key is to alter the image in photoshop first. High contrasts and grayscale.

Speed: 1000
Power: 100
Convert to dots (keep original settings)
LPI: 225

of passes: 1

Focus height (in inches): 0.158. I’m using 6 mm MDF
