For those in the Puget Sound area, just wanted to pass along a way to source cast acrylic–KelTech Plastics in Tacoma. They have offcuts/scraps of cast acrylics in various shades & thicknesses (though hit or miss as to what they have based on their jobs, as well as lots of other products which are not good for laser). They sell their scrap by the pound, so it is a great option if you’re further south than Tap Plastics in Seattle/Lynnwood/Bellevue.
