Does anyone have any insight as to why my engravings have become extremely grainy/inconsistent lately? I’ve been having this issue for a while now. The ADJUSTABLE was the first one I ran at 1000 speed, 100 power, 125 LPI. I think it looks pretty good for 125lpi. Every one I have run since then on the same settings has gotten progressively worse.  All twelve signs came from the same sheet of 1/2” Baltic Birch and it is only recently, the last few months really, that we have started having these issues on materials we’ve used for over a year.
I would look at belt tension or the wheels on the carriage plate.

I concur - I’m betting you’ve got dust in your belts so it’s skipping ever so slightly. Remove, clean, and reinstall as a first try.
