Potion Bottle Ink Swatching Rubber Stamp

I whipped out a quick rubber stamp to use for ink swatching. Since a few people have asked me about making stamps, I made a three-minute short showing the process.

I love it. Are you then writing the name of the ink or something to the side so you can find it again?

Those would also be helpful to test aging. You’ve got enough room for another stamp you could fill in 6mos or a year later to compare.

I do very few stamps, but I’ve got to remember the foam layer!

Yes! I am writing the name and other notes on the other side of the card in the same ink.

Good thought! I should at least put the date. My understanding is that fountain pen inks are generally not particularly lightfast.

I have 100 of those cards, which should allow for some experimentation.

It really makes a difference for getting nice impressions.

thanks for the video. Very nice process. I haven’t made any stamps since Christmas but I love them!

I used to be an avid stamper, with over 1k sets, including some I hand carved. There weren’t any home lasers at the time. But have I made one since getting my GF? Nope.
