I’m looking for a way to send customers a preview of the engraving project. Is there an app that can do this? I’m hoping to get a photo realistic preview, but I’m open for all suggestions. Right now I use fusion to generate a render, extruding and darkening where the engraving happens.
I do “mock ups” on either a scrap piece, or you could run it on lower power on cardstock or cardboard…
That’s about all you can do for a 3d/variable depth engrave.
If it’s a solid engrave, you could just layer your design over a photo of the material.
For anyone else following, I found the xcarve app to get a close draft representation of the things I’m looking for. It’s a carve utility, but variable depth enough to make it look like what it will be.
