If you are trying to cut trough plywood for example, that you purchased from a new supplier. You are using the “plywood” power preset that you have previously set up; however because this plywood is from a different supplier and has a different formulation your power settings don’t allow the laser to cut all the way through. Would there be a way to take the material out, look at it, put it back in the Glowforge, Increase the power, reregister the image and reprint the same image on top of the old image with the proper settings?
