Ever since update, my prints stop and it says that it needs to cool down error
Likely your fan has gotten dirty or your exhaust clogged up - that means less air is getting through so the head will get hotter. Pull off your exhaust and clean it out and see if that fixes your issue!
How warm is it in the room where you’re running your laser? All but the Glowforge Pro have a max operating temperature of 75F, so the room it’s in needs to be somewhat under that temperature.
This time of year that is a frequent problem. Even if the room is near 75 degrees the inside can get overheated easily. Sometme it is just better to cut at night when it is a bit cooler.
I appreciate all of your suggestions! I checked everything that you all mentioned and I really believe that it’s happening after the update.
The update did not change the fundamental condition of your machine or its operating environment. Something else is going on.
Imagine for a moment that they had a glitch that caused every Glowforge with certain circumstances to screw up. It has happened. When, at any given moment even a hundred or much the more likely multi thousands of Glowforgers discovered the problem and only half of them complained. The programmers could not leave their computer and make it to the door before they had a dozen complaints come in. and there was a mad rush to fix the glitch, even if it had to be going back to working in the previous mode before figuring it out, and you would see huge active threads by dozenns of folk describing what the glitch was.
If you look about a day later and there is no sign of the uproar, there is absolutely zero possibility it was the upgrade causing what you are experiencing.
Don’t even have to imagine. With the first try at this update, people began popping up all over about random lines in the artwork. Took a week or two to get the bug squashed(and a slow roll out to make sure it was fixed) but reports were aaaaalllllll over. Here and Facebook and I’m sure support tickets were everywhere.
Right now, nothing about this.
Likely a local issue.
It’s just a coincidence that the update happened in the summer and it’s getting hotter outside. Cool the temperature of your work room down a bit and the problem will go away.
