I have an Aura that is not quite a year old. I have tried to print this 5 times and only gotten 1 good one. They always start good then toward the middle to last of the print it is all over the place. I have tried to do the camera alignment and it just says “centering” until the machine shuts off, but never actually does anything. I am so frustrated.
This is not an alignment problem. Your machine is losing its way, and engraving where it shouldn’t. This often indicates that the rails need to be cleaned.
Also, it is best to engrave first and cut last.

I am cleaning the rails in between each cut because that was my first thought. It is a cut file so there is no engraving, it is all cut.
This problem is certainly frustrating and expensive in terms of wasted material and time.
If cleaning the rails does not resolve the problem, you will need to contact Glowforge support. Do you get good cuts on Proofgrade materials? Do smaller designs cut without this problem?
so sorry you are having issues! the only additional suggestion I have is one that I learned the hard way - to do small test cuts before cutting an entire design to avoid wasting materials. (Of course if you are getting a sporadic issue then that’s not always going to help but it’s a good overall practice.) Looking back at the beginning, I roll my eyes at myself for wasting material… ugh!
Hope you get things working right.
I think I may know what the problem is (thanks for the link ). I will find out tonight when I get more material to try again. I’ll let ya know.
