Proofgrade masking... shelf life

FDoes anyone have any experience on how long the masking on proofgrade will last before it becomes breaks down and leaves residue behind?
I’d like to order some additional proofgrade boards but may not use them for some time, let’s say two months. Am I better off peeling the existing masking off and then apply new masking just prior to using?

I’ve used some after storing for over a year and a half and it was fine. (Wouldn’t try it on the leather though.)

I have stuff over two years and it still holds well and there is no adhesive left on surface after removal.

We still have some original leather samples from two years ago, the masking no longer separates cleanly.

Hmmm - I should go through and pull the masking off the leather pieces I have!
