As usual my downfall was painting / finishing. Cant ever get that “perfect”.

The sides are engraved and then I painted then sanded the sides.
Front is the first chapter of the book, the text came out a tad hard to read, think i needed to make the font a bit bigger.

Painting and sanding is a nice trick, sort of sidesteps the whole “weed then paint” thing that is pretty labor-intensive. Smart.

Likely your partner will see and recognize the chapter quote, so the fact that it’s harder to read won’t be terribly important as long as they know what it is

I have worked on about 5 different theater performances. This is a master peace. I may have to try some thig like this. My wife was also with me on these. Thank you for allowing us to see this.
