Purses and more purses...I think I'm in a rut

Edit: I meant to post the new purse as well.

With all this heat in CA it took me 4 days of getting up at the crack of dawn to get this new purse cut. I present the Kourtina Purse! Kourtina in Greek means drape (or curtains). This purse drapes around the outer circle and is suspended inside it. It was fun to design and push some limits! Made with 1 board of custom Patterply and 2 boards of Black Acrylic from Smokey Hill.

The purse is 9.875” W (at the widest part of the base) x 6.25”H x 3” D - The Outer Ring is 10.5” R
Note: The purse pocket is a half circle 4.35” H x 8.25” W x 2.75”D Yes…the pocket does fit a phone

Hey all!

Been a while since I posted but I haven’t been able to cut because of the heat (No A/C

Here’s a purse I did a few months ago. It was fun to design and the acrylic was outstanding.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Your files are a study in excellence. Great choice of pattern/material for this item.

Yeah, I’ve been in the Los Angeles area for most of the past 18 months (helping my dad, who is 102) and the temps have been his age and higher the last few days. So hot!!

Do you sell your templates? Sorry I am new here and not sure where to look for something so beautiful to try.

Welcome to the community!

It’s against forum rules to ask for files. People will either attach them to the post, or link their shop.

@designvh619 is the latter type. Click on his profile pic and you’ll see a link to his store. Don’t know if this particular design is in there, but there are a bunch of ab fab designs.

Incredible piece! It’s amazing how you got it looking like leather so much I was looking for stitching.

I haven’t even bothered to turn on my laser in a week, it’s been so hot. Hope your dad is able to stay cool, it’s been brutal in LA.

I think that’s my favorite one of yours so far! What’s the size of it?

Thank you, yes. Luckily his AC works pretty well. It’s going to be brutal today too. I’ve been picking up dinner for us as it’s too hot to cook.

My GF is in North Carolina and I’m longing to make some projects. I’m going back this weekend for a few weeks and the weather there is currently much more agreeable. (My twin is staying with Dad.)

It’s been in the high-60s to low-70s the past week with low humidity and the 2 week forecast is more of the same. Just delightful.

At least in the western mountains part of the state :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, gorgeous! I was glad to see the design in your shop, too. Curious to know if it is lined?

I can only imagine the patience and craftsmanship that went into creating, especially with the intense California heat! The way it is suspended inside the outer ring adds such a bold and modern touch.
I love how functional it is, too! It’s always exciting to see creative designs pushing fashion and craftsmanship’s limits.
