Pushing the limits on how fine a cut can be made...in birch

the roots were supposed to be symmetric to the branches. roughly 4.5 inches in diameter

Yes I have pushed the limits like that as well. a key thing to watch the joints where two branches part to not have any sharp corners but make sure that they are as big a curve as you can stand, if using straight wood it will split easily along the grain, but the sharper the corner the more concentrated the strain.
