Quick question

I’m so afraid to damage my machine , i even tuck it in at night with a blanket. my sister makes things with apoxy and wanted me to carve on it . has anyone done this ? is it even safe ?

You’re going to want to check the ingredients of the epoxy. If it contains PVC or chlorine - it’s a no-go. Some folks have said it cuts terribly, others seem to think it does fine, so you’re going to want to do some testing before you try a final piece!

An acrylic resin should be just fine once it’s dry…if your sister wants to give that a shot!

I conducted a quick search for cutting/engraving epoxy. The posts I read said 1) you need to find out the compostion of the epoxy and 2) no, it isn’t safe.

I don’t know what the right answer is, but you were right to check before cutting. Never put anything in the Glowforge that you are not sure is 100% safe.
