Random lines in Engrave after update

Dreaded errant lines in engrave seemingly from the update… Was running my Basic all day yesterday, and on the last set of badges, 5 of the 6 have the random engrave lines. I checked, and sure enough, my GFUI has the updated speeds and such. I’m positive the day did not start with them(lines, nor update). I am 100% confident this is not a cleaning/optics/file issue. Only one upload. And this is the last run of 4 full sheets. The really odd bit, there are 6 badges in a row, lined up at the top, and one on the far right did not have the line while the others did. 'Tis an older machine, 2018. I’ve been searching GF groups and still have questions:

  1. Are these lines showing up only on engraves? (Saw a post here that some fonts appear to be doing this as well, but their file was created within the GFUI.)

  2. Is there a consensus on what’s causing this?

  3. Does support have to be involved to fix it, or is there even one yet? (I’ve seen multiple posts about the lines.)

The consensus is, it’s a bug. If you haven’t already please be sure to submit a ticket to Support (email, phone, Discord) so they can add you to the growing pile.

It only happens in vector engraves (which includes all the GFUI fonts). Short term solution is to rasterize all your images prior to engraving.

Mine is doing this too and they are files I got from the design studio. Is there a way I can download them to my computer and rasterize them? As far as I can tell, they are only available in my designs on the glow forge app.

Sorry to say that you cannot download designs from the catalog. Sounds like you may have to wait until they solve this problem.

This is going to cost me a great deal of money. I have a big convention next week and I need these. When will this be resolved? Can you just undo the update?

Support no longer monitors this forum…we are just other users here like yourself. They are working to resolve this.

Support just said this; "One big improvement is shipping today to everyone. We’ve also got another fix that we believe will resolve even the problems that predate the update. "

So…keep the faith.
