Removing Stubborn Paper from Acrylic

I had some acrylic with paper that was extremely hard to remove (it was a bargain). I have found if I soak the part over night in a solvent like Goo Gone the paper comes off easily, usually in one piece. The surface seems to be unaffected after some cleanup with soap and water.

I’ve been told WD-40 will work as well…

soaking in warm soapy water works as well, and avoids the expense of the other solvents.

Regarding removing the mask, my latest order of proofgrade cherry ply had a lower tack to the mask. On a Lacy engraving it pulled easily and released in one piece in a fraction of the time it took to weed the same design earlier.
I’m loving that!
