I was trying to reorder operations so that the external cut would occur after an engrave. For a while I thought this wasn’t possible until I tried using Chrome instead of Safari.
When you try to drag and drop the thumbnails for the operations on Safari, it picks it up but with a “+” indication like I’m going to copy it, and will not drop to reorder.
FWIW, I have the same problem. I was convinced by the sheer number of difficulties to keep Chrome around just for running the Glowforge, but it would be great to have all of the features work correctly on all of the supported browsers.
I didnt have that problem with Safari. I had a completely different problem where when zoomed in at higher zoom levels, the pixel size of the bed image was incorrectly scaled only in the X-axis to the point it appeared like item placement was actually moving, therefore unreliable.
From the reports I’ve seen here on the forum, I’m pretty sure that Chrome is the only browser that doesn’t currently have problems with the Glowforge UI. Hopefully at some point they’ll fix it so Safari, Firefox, and Edge are all usable, but I’m guessing there are higher priority things to work on (as everyone should be able to just use Chrome for now).
But it might be good for Glowforge to warn people that they should be using Chrome, and then let us know once they fix it for various other browsers.
My browser is Safari 11 on Mac OS X 10. I’m fine with sharing all the rest of the information on that page publicly, except for my IP address, for some reason.
