Hi all!
Those of us who have the Premium membership received a 1/2 off coupon to gift to someone for a new glowforge. I already happily gave mine to a friend who co-runs a totally volunteer community charity organization.
However, in talking to my son’s art teachers, I found out that they would love to jointly buy an Aura for the school’s art department so I am reaching out to see if anyone is not using their coupon and would be willing to pass it on.
I think a little history would give context to how helpful this would be for them. My son is lucky enough to go to LaGuardia High School in NYC. Those of you old enough will recognize that as the “Fame” school from the film and tv series. Those of you young enough will recognize that as the high school Timothee Chalamet, Adrien Brody and many other celebrities went to. What a lot of people do not know is that even though there are competitive auditions to get accepted, LaGuardia High School is still a New York City PUBLIC high school which means it often suffers from the same lack of funding as all public high schools these days. Because these kids are so talented, the teachers often pay for supplies themselves, and we parents try to donate as much as possible. Two of my son’s art teachers want to share in the cost of the Aura. (I suggested that if I am able to get them a coupon, that they try to create a Donor’s Choose page so I and other parents could assist in the cost since even at half price, $600 is a lot for teachers).
Of course, helping out teachers at ANY public school is always beneficial to students, but I thought it would be fun for anyone who might have an extra coupon to know this would be going to the Fine Arts Department of a very special school for the arts.
I don’t know if there is a way to “private message” on this forum? But however that might work I so appreciate your assistance and generosity.
