Writing good documentation is as much a skill as design. It takes empathy, patience, and a talent for the concise.
In the third grade our social studies teacher had us each write instructions for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He then followed each set of instructions and presented the results to the author. Not a single sandwich came out as the author intended. Such a fantastic lesson!
That is what is always in the back of my mind. Am I concise enough without leaving anything to interpretation. I have always told people when I give them directions to my house, do exactly what I am telling you and you will get here. LOL
