Runs into back of machine when starting up

My Glowforge will not zero itself out. when I first turn it on, the motors start up and after a few seconds the laser moves backwards and hits the back of the unit. Its like its trying to find its starting location but it just runs into the back wall. Anyone else run into this issue and how do I resolve it? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Try taking everything off of the bed. With the machine off, gently move the printhead so that the Glowforge logo is directly under the lid camera. Turn the machine back on and see if that helps.

HI @thesuires23. I’m sorry that you ran into some trouble with the printer head when it was powered on, but see that @dklgood was able to help you get it resolved. I’m happy to hear you were able to get the printer head from running into the back wall. Since the issue has been resolved, I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but feel free to create a new thread, and we’ll be happy to help. Happy printing!
