I got in about ten minutes of testing on this this afternoon before I got shut down by a thunderstorm.
So no conclusions yet. 
I know a little (actually a lot) about software and data management, it’s likely they simply changed the underlying data format in some way that meant anything associated with a file stored in the “old” format wasn’t compatible, and didn’t “convert” it as there’s no stated commitment to preserve things like that.
The data is likely still there in unopened files, but now inaccessible and discarded when opened in the “new” UI.

We’ve found what was causing most of these problems and fixed it.
If you still have settings not loading, please open a new thread, we’d be happy to look into it.
