Multi-material cribbage board project. 12"x8" slate engraved map, Proofgrade walnut for back and frame, and engraved clear acrylic for top to hold slate in place.
Nice work. Great combination of materials.
I’ve been fascinated by cribbage boards for years. I just made some templates for a large one recently.
Looks amazing! This makes me want to learn how to play cribbage. Hope you won’t hate me because I’ve never played cribbage before.
This is a very nice board to enjoy while playing cards. Nicely done!
Ooh! I love the acrylic name floating over the slate - that’s fab.
It’s such a simple game, but loads of fun since there is so much variation between every hand.
Now I’m so curious! Must play now!
As a bonus you only need 2 people…or a computerized opponent.
Only need two, but playing with a friend versus their parents is just as tense as a monopoly night haha
Was so hooked on cribbage at one point my friend and I got an app so we could play against each other no matter where we were. Definitely have a soft spot for the game, another great project, thanks for sharing
Love the combination of materials. Makes a spectacular presentation.
I love this combo of materials. Well executed!!
Wow! That looks amazing!
Beautiful piece! Your own design?
My family lives cribbage. My parents taught myself and both my brothers at a very young age, they say that’s why we all aced math, algebra I, II, calc, etc. it’s a great game for a family
Yes, I created the wood border and frame in illustrator specifically to house the 12"x8" slate. I’ve created a bunch of cribbage board templates that I sell, so this one will probably end up in the shop too. The trick I use in illustrator is creating a brush the has the 5 peg holes and spacer to place on the path, which makes it pretty easy to whip out a new cribbage design.
where do you sell your templates, I am interested in purchasing & making one for the husband for our 25th.
Just checked out your site. You have amazing talent!
