Shellac IS bug poop, chipped of of tree branches, boiled and stretched, dried and chopped up. The candy shellac is vegetable wax; carnuba is one and the same thing for waxing cars. Cool process for coating candy: stainless steel cement mixers. Red? Carminic acid from female cochineal bugs. I love the pistachios. If I put my name on, maybe others wouldn’t steal them – or maybe I could put “I spit on this”. As long as no one added “me too.”
