If you did not get exotic with an engrave but cut out a shape so you had positive and negative you glue the “hole” to a flat sheet and use the inner part as a piston, you would have a quick shape faster than you could cut frozen soap. The difference in kerf would be about right to allow for the plastic wrap. As this is the way most soap shapes are made it would be educational at that.
