Oh thank, you, thank you, thank you!
I’ll be on and off the forum for the next week, but when I get back…we can tag team the CorelDraw stuff…lol
Jules, thank you so much for collaborating with Marion on this. I’ve saved the PDF to read. Even though I use Affinity Design for Mac, many of the features/tools are pretty much the same as what you describe in AI…so I can sort of translate things from one to the other. And even though I didn’t recognize them by name, turns out I already know about embedding and linking. That works the same way in videos that I’ve created. Linked stuff can disappear in a heartbeat, leaving a big blank space in your project.
I could be your twin on this one. Exactly the same for me.
I’ll swap out with you guys as they come up… Thank you both!
The first one should be pretty general though…no translation needed. I need to start putting it together, but I’m taking the rest of the day off.*
*(Except for the Weekly Highlights once i get editing capabilities back.)
@Xabbess, you’re probably the Affinity Design expert…want to take a shot at translating into that?
Thanks Jules…I’m honored, but so far from expert. I’ve only worked in it for a few months…and my most recent obsession was mostly with learning to use the pen tool. It’s such a relatively new program that even others here on this forum have used it only a short time…but heck…calling all Affinity Design users!
Fantastic write up - thx! Though, I now have “Islands in the fill - that is what we are” sung by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers running through my head! ah!
I’m totally out of likes…ROFL!
(Used to love dancing to that song…)
I think I will take a stab at it for Affinity, but will need to wait until this evening to do it - my ALS requires me to use voice recognition software for large amounts of text, and that doesn’t work so well when my 4 year old grandson is playing in the same room.
Thanks for taking over, Bill. I’ll look forward to what you put together.
Bad moment to run out of likes
Thanks for all your effort, I’m gonna read it right now (before fireworks begin)
I got the book from them and everything and barely touched it. ADD sucks to have ;D
Go for it. I’ve purchased Affinity but yet to start using it fully.
I got through a few chapters in the book, but then with the holidays approaching and wanting to finish up some projects, I let my self instruction with the book sit idle, though I did use Affinity a lot for my projects. I anticipate getting back into it through the rest of this winter, though. Hope you and @Tex99 can do the same. It’s a great instructional book.
Problem is its summer in Oz so too many distractions…
Thank @Jules for all your hard work documenting so that when our glowforges arrive we will have some insight from yours and @marmak3261 experiences!
Ahhhh, you’re very welcome! (Marion’s idea.)
Wow, so much to learn!
