Spirited Away inspired air fresheners

I’ve been experimenting with soaking wood pieces in essential oil drops to make air fresheners!

That is a fresh new design!

What a cool idea! How long will they hold their scents?

That’s what I’m really trying to experiment with. How many drops to use and if I should mix them with water or what.
I bought a bunch of smell proof Mylar bags and a little heat thing to seal them with as well

Nice concept and design!

Does the oil seep into the surrounding wood over time? I looks like there is some diffusion from the engraved section (3rd cut) but its not clear how long it took.

Mixing the oil with hot wax may help in retaining it in place and making the fragrance last longer.

I put the oil on the whole thing, not just the engraved parts

Thanks for clarifying.

How did this turn out? Did scent stay very long? Great idea and design.

The draft board holds the scents longer then the Mable or birch woods do

I actually don’t know because I gave them to a friend lol. But I did seal them in plastic pouches to keep them fresh until she wants to use them. Hopefully they last a good long while.

Oh interesting! I don’t use the draft board though, because I have the filter with my glowforge(no way to vent outside unfortunately) and those make the filters gunk up SUPER fast.
