Stop Forging! (Just long enough to go vote)

Voted a ways back now. Georgia’s elections are really contentious so I’ll be glad when people can move on.

ALL the elections are contentious. Will be glad if we can all get back to normal and stop all the hate… On both sides

I hope you mean in their own countries… [quote=“UrJac, post:1, topic:31247”]
For our Non-US friends, I hope you did when you could!

Well, this is “the most important election of our lifetimes” after all.

@gamn1958 I do wish that the tribalism would stop. We need to be open to others ideas, listen and see what we can learn from others to get along.

We are voting today.

@sailbyc I don’t think it’s tribalism, it’s just others trying to force their beliefs on others…

Voted by mail weeks ago, Feel like a spectator as the hype and robocalls reach a fever pitch,

Then again, that’s basically the point of voting, isn’t it?

I think we’re all just very passionate about certain topics/issues and it’s hard to see how someone else wouldn’t see/feel/prioritize/believe/fear what we do. Tribalism might come into play for some, but I don’t think it’s nearly that simple for others. We just have a broken 2-party political system.

It depends on why you’re voting. I vote to ensure the Constitution is defended and followed. I didn’t fight for this country to have it become Socialist… If that’s not the way the election works out, there is always another in 2 years. No need to start a riot or be violent…

It doesn’t depend on why you’re voting. You voted based on your beliefs of how the country should be run and what it should look like. Other people will have other beliefs. In effect, we all want our belief system (not necessarily religious, although for some it is) to be the ruling system.

[Not sure where rioting came into the conversation, but I’m simply talking about the act of voting.]

I thought this thread wasn’t supposed to get political! Just go vote - who cares what side you’re on - just exercise your right to vote!
