Struggling to get tray settings for engraving

I have a tray (with dip in the middle) and trying to engrave an image but keep getting error message that the height must be between .5 and 1.5. I have used all the tools on figuring out the MT and focus and still can’t get it to work. Any help appreciated.

The tray at its tallest is 1.4 (this is the edge) and the dip is 1.2 (where I want the engrave to happen). Based on the instructions I have seen - we put in a .3 piece of material to bring the total height up.

Am I missing something? Can’t figure out why I am getting the error. #mathisnotmything. LOL

Raise it up just a little higher maybe? Just make sure the higher edges remain below 2" in height. By raising it to the bare minimum you may still be slightly low for it to properly focus.

Is the tray reflective? Do you have a picture of the tray you are trying to engrave?
