Tapered Shot Glass Jig

This cut file is designed for 2oz Acopa shot glasses. The shot glasses are tapered and so I designed the slots to have a higher gradient then the slope of the glass so that the top will fall through the slot more then the bottom. Yielding an even surface for the glowforge to engrave on

I made a version to hold 12 glasses and a single glass cutout.

That’s a clever solution. How’d you figure out the keystone shape?

The tapered shape calculations? Just literally math…its all I am good at  I took measurement to the true slop and compare it with my desired. Then took some fine tuning to handle the burn off.

Very impressive! I don’t plan on doing any shot glasses, but like the idea for maybe some other things that may not be flat.

@MyDogsThinkImCrazy , did you just use the normal glass settings for the engraving?

MAFF is your friend.

when my daughters are helping me design something(they are both great math students, the oldest is a math major in college) I point out how useful the math is they they thought they’d never use again. LOL

Yup! Same settings. Also, you can tell the app the focus height or you can mask one of the glasses and have it focus on that

I use it a lot. At work but also outside of work. I like to sew and design dresses in my spare time and that requires a lot of angle corrections  math is certainly has its value.
