Terms & Agreement typo?

Hi, I just got my Glowforge and started on the unboxing process, and noticed in the Eligibility section a potential typo:

“Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of your parent or guardian on your behalf and only use the Service under their direct supervision. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant to us that: (a) you are at least 13 years old;…”

The text has THIRTEEN written twice, but also refers to EIGHTEEN. This can be very confusing–doesn’t apply to me, but wanted to make you aware so you can correct your legal documentation correctly as this section may apply to many users!

Shifting this to Problems and Support so they’ll see it.

No one under 13 can use it, people between 13 and 18 need parental consent.

Thanks for clarifying!

Glad this got cleared up. Now we can get past day 9/basic and day 1/pro. :sunglasses:

Yep. Standard age brackets for the US COPA law (Child Online Protection Act). I’ve had to build this into every citizen science program and web site I’ve worked on since '98.

But shifting won’t generate an alert.

@semhar

See if they get the same alerts we do for name tagging.
