The tube and head went sideways, literally

So this just happened. I turned on the Glowforge and it started doing its startup thing, and then there was a horrible grinding sound and I ran over and looked and the tube was at a diagonal. I immediately turned it off but I have no idea what to do now. Help?

Turn it off. Double check all the belts and bearings and rails.

Gently push the whole carriage to the back until it stops and evens up.

Turn back on and let it calibrate.

If it does it again, turn back off, wait for support to chime in.

It happens every once and a while for a glitch.

Update: I was able to straighten out the head but it looks like something is preventing it from moving down on the left side past a certain point.

I think I found a piece of material that was jamming it. Phew! Am turning it on and calibrating now.

Yes, you definitely do not want any material up on the crumbtray rails. Always make sure it is flat and in contact with the honeycomb portion of the tray.

I’m glad you resolved it! I’m going to close this thread - if the problem reoccurs, go ahead and post a new topic. Thanks for letting us know about this!
