Tile etching fun

Thanks to all of the posts on here, I had some great luck testing out etching ceramic tile this weekend. Alcohol markers work great, and melamine sponges wipe the excess away easily. I ordered some black tile because I want to try the Dr Strange window again, I think it’ll really pop.

Very nice! Can you tell me what settings you are using? When I tried it I couldn’t get the color to stick - used all kinds of different inks - sharpies, acrylic paint even alcohol markers.

You can’t really hurt tile - so hot and slow generally works - but if you want specific numbers read this thread (searching in Beyond the Manual is the place to go for settings that are not PG since we’re not allowed to post them in any other sections).

With that in mind, as long as you’re breaking the surface of the tile the colours soak in - are you allowing them to dry completely before wiping?
