To Tree or not to Tree

Wow this looks great. Thank you for testing this. Could you give any hints about the dimensions (z = 0.433" /> 1cm) and how long does it take to cut such a piece? Just a rough estimate would be fine. Are we talking about seconds or minutes?

Thank you!

The cut is a smooth square 2-3/4" on a side. There is also a small nut shaped cut in the center. For 1/8" Proofgrade Maple the two cuts would have taken 30 seconds. With the much slower speed required for a .433 Oak board, it took 1 min 44 seconds.

Was on the factory floor this afternoon and the techs were suitably impressed that the machine they were building could do that.

These are great! Nice work overall, and +1 on the wedding lines tip. Definitely on the pro tip with that one.

very cool rpegg… do you remember your speed/power/passes for this?

The settings have changed so old numbers no longer apply. Can’t remember anyway. It was a Pro tube. Full power at the time and extremely slow. I might try to replicate it tonight. Still have a section of the same board.
