I am jealous of those who have the space to fully open their lids.
Given the little space we have, and the costco shelf that it lives on, I have made a little tool to keep the lid up.
Use at your own risk. Better to cut one for each end.

And was watching Goonies. I scored the text and smile, cut the outline.

A plus for you is no stress on the glues or ribbon at the hinge side. It does not take much to over extend a full 90 degree open.
I tend to open mine just enough (about 45 degree) that it does not reclose on it’s own, just for that reason.
You have a shelf above? Might think a hookish thing from above might work also.
I too keep mine at the smallest angle it would support itself. Cute name BTW,

I am not sure what my kids would do with a hook, but I like the concept.
The machine gets enough stress cutting out pineapples and everything else.
