Trying to cut .25inch birch

has anybody cut .25 inch plywood I am having a hard time trying to get the correct settings I have the golwforge Auria/

Some plywood just won’t cut with a laser because of glue spots, voids and knots. Are you trying to use one of the Proofgrade thick plywood settings as a starting point? I don’t have the Aura, but I suspect 1/4" plywood is going to be a real challenge for it.

Thanks I have contacted Glowforge and they say it will cut .25 but so far no luck. Thanks for your reply

Have you tried any of the 1/4" Proofgrade plywood? I think it may be your material.

Thanks for your reply , I just found out that the Aura will not cut .25 wood .

Not sure who you found that out from, but it’s incorrect. It just won’t cut all 1/4" wood.

And gf support recommends no plywood at all. Rails and optics too sensitive. (Or non effective as many customers have pointed out)

My first buy when I got my new Glowforge pro was a 4x8 sheet of 1/4 birch plywood. It is to this day the worst thing I have ever tried to cut. Even the place where someone apparently wiped off a brush in between the plys was laser-proof to the pro so an Aura would not scratch it. The wood itself was fine, and the glue that held the layers was not a problem but the filler they used for things like knot holes could be used on spaceships to ward off laser wars.
Real Baltic Birch has legal restrictions on how it is produced and is fine.
