Will the software have selectable units of measurement (e.g. metric vs imperial)? We use metric in Australia and find it much easier measuring fine detail in millimetres instead of fractions of an inch, no to mention that all locally supplied materials are sold by metric measurements.
Since it supports just tossing in any random image, I would think it is fine with either.
But if there is a preference for one over the other… mm is pretty much THE standard in all things 3D Printing or Laser (from my experience so far)
