I got asked to make a wall ruler for the 14mo old granddaughter. But everyone always makes ones that look like giant versions of the wooden rulers from school, and well Coco is way too strong a personality (she was my first Patch-Hat with the very accurate phrase) for a big slab of maple…
So we got the Denver Acrylics Peacock Confetti Acrylic which is extremely sparkly like Coco! Handily Denver Acrylics has Glowforge settings on the product page (I just set it to thick black which is basically what they had). Just note when using it that the mylar confetti is on one side (it is not in the middle) so I put it down on the tray for cutting (not sure if it matters)
Anyways, super sparkly and really glints in the light. Then for the backing I used TruFlat white and ran a score on the surface where all the inch/foot markers and numbers went so I didn’t have to align anything. It is 3 panels with the first panel 6" off the ground to accommodate moldings. Then I wanted a bottom border of grass (it’s kind of a floral thing you’ll see). so some medium draftboard, which I threw into the Eufymake E1 and UV printed a grass pattern from CreativeFabrica (it was a PNG so selected the white in Photoshop and exported that as a path to illustrator which was the cut line). Then printed the grass onto the draft board.
Now for the markers, I cut out some flower shapes in draft board and printed with the Eufymake (raised pattern) with the year on it. They have double stick tape on the back.
Finally 3D printed a container to hold the markers, which I realized didn’t match being that it was matte black PLA so cut the grass to the sides of the container and CA glued them on with the grass pattern (and threw another grass behind it). The inch/foot/numbers are all CA glued inside the score lines.

On a quick test the foot markers line up within a mm or so across all 5’ with my Stanley tape measure.
