I had an issue a few months ago and GF could not fix it remotly so I got it fixed with Wiregrass, but GF turned the power up and now its too high I need my settings put back to default but I can’t figure out how to reach them? Any ideas?
Click the support tab at the top of this page and follow the links to support. You can also call them.
Replying to your old email ticket will also reopen it. You can search for support@glowforge.com in your email inbox. If you don’t find the ticket, a new email to that address also opens a new one.
Not that it matters, what they adjust isn’t the power but the speed. They set a scaling factor for the machine, something like 0.9, and any speed you choose in your settings gets multiplied by that number first. That makes it run slower to compensate for the reduced power.
It is not there, you can search for issues but not submit a new ticket and my old tickets are gone.
ok I will try this Thank you I just didn’t want to adjust my settings for 100+ files but yes I uderstand I could do that too. Thank you!
Saving settings in a design is a very bad idea. They are subject to be deleted at any time - at least, in my experience. The UI does not retain any custom settings you create in design files.
You need to create saved settings for the materials you use, and reference those. If that also gets lost (which happens all the time - again, in my experience) then all you have to do is re-assign those saved settings for each step.
I have test patterns I use for validating kerf, for example, or ability to cut thru material. I can’t think of a single time I’ve opened one of those designs and the settings were still there. That goes back to the very beginning (I am one of the “founders”)..
