WIP, Custom made cornhole boards

Working on a few cornhole boards that friends want to buy. The OU one is done and gone, the Rocky Mountain one is almost there. The 2’ by 4’ surface is all laser cut and color stained piece by piece. All of that is glue mounted to 1/2 inch Ply which will in turn be mounted to a frame with the fold out legs. (Oh, and the hole cut of course!)

UPDATE:

Finished the board and here are a few pics.

They look awesome! What do you put on top to make the play surface smooth and uniform? Do you use a glaze coat product or something else?

I do an epoxy resin flood coat over the top. It costs a little, but i like the solid smooth surface.
And Thanks !

In fact, in the top pic, the tape is still around the edge to keep the epoxy from spilling over the edge…

Got it, got it. I was wondering what that was there for. The assumption I had settled upon was that it was there to protect the piece from a strap clamp, or something of the sort.

Yeah, looking at the photo again I can see the resin now. There’s a little flash above the mountains on the right that gives it away

Yes, I took that pic at an angle because the overhead light reflection is pretty bright.

Great job!!! Love these.

What is your preferred epoxy?

I have tried Diamond epoxy as well, liked that one also.

The Rocky Mt. one is too pretty to have sandbags thrown at it!

Yeah, the hardest part is cutting a 6’ hole in it… which is what I’m doing today. :worried:

Wow! That came out beautiful. Great job man. Your project posts have really inspired me. You’ve gotten my gears turning on some projects I’d like to tackle using a similar stained glass technique as to what you used here. Such a cool idea, thanks for sharing.
