Workshop sign for nephew's anniversary

I’m having fun combining the strengths of Glowforge, CNC and 3D Printing. For this project I designed the piece in Illustrator, cut the base on a CNC using VCarve Pro and used the Glowforge to cut the engraved panels out of Proof Grade maple plywood. I liked the precision that the Glowforge enabled on the carbide teeth detail in particular. I used Loctite Power Grab to secure the panels and CA glue and activator to secure the teeth. When engraving the script, I forgot to combine the paths in Illustrator, which left artifacts where the letters joined each other. I was able to re-engrave with corrected art with no problem as I had not moved the board.

It’s the only buzz saw blade that hangs on a wall that I really like. Outstanding job!

Thanks very much. The GF has become a key tool in the shop. Can’t imagine not having one now.

Fantastic work and love the detail of the wood combination.

Excellent work leaving your board in place so that you could update the artwork!
