Yellow / Smoke residue after cutting White Museum Boards

Hello Community,

I am trying to cut 0.04-inch-thick Museum Boards as part of surface scape to an Architectural Model but the test pieces are coming out yellow where you cut. Does anyone have a suggestion on calibration settings or a post cut suggestion to cleaning the pieces?

Because it’s a paper material, I don’t know anything besides a tissue to “clean” it, so I would relay more on the laser settings.

If anyone has tips and info to share, I’ll truly appreciate it!
Thank you so much!

Is the yellowing on the top surface or the underside? Have you tested other cut settings? Have you considered masking?

We fought with this for a while in our office and concluded there’s really no way to avoid some amount of discoloration on the edges so we paint them if they’re visible. For the surface we sometimes use very low tack masking (stick regular masking to your shirt/pants first to make it less aggressive)
