Working on some patch hats for a startup, and wanted to put the QR for the website on the back of the hat, but regular buckskin leatherette from Lonestar Adhesives would be kinda boring (that’s the front patch), so tried out the Glow/Black Laserette:
It looks better in person than the dusty appearance here (assuming later the UV laser on the Lumos Ultra will do a cleaner job). buuuuut…
go into a pitch black room and boom! Stuff is amazing…
Interestingly the regular Buckskin color needs around 30% power but to engrave this color needs almost 60%, so must have something to do with the glow material at the CO2 wavelength. Also the buckskin color engraves absolutely cleanly with none of those scan lines visible while the glow has them. scattering effect maybe?
