I didn’t zoom in to see the label. In fact, my dad was the personnel manager for the T&C shoe factory in Sedalia. He moved us in 1966 from St. Louis after his 10 years with International.
Wow. Great work. My brothers seem to have scored their wives by bribing them with cheap shoes.
A couple of memorable times in my life when I was in Rome, I went out to dinner with the president of the company and the main designer. Well. The president stayed for drinks and then went off on his own for dinner. (???) I got to have dinner with the designer who was a young single woman with lots of fashion cred. Company expense account. We had a great time always.
They would bring me some needed supplies, like anti-perspirant and barbeque sauce.
