@cooperl, In your situation I think this is the best bet for you.
I am wondering if a vent stack outside to carry it above the window level might be possible. A little extra, but if you can get a vent hood installed in the chemistry lab, surely being able to setup for a Glowforge and all it could do might be justified.

We worked with acrylic in Jr High School shop class.
And did the kids survive? I mean if they all died shortly after that’s not much of an example…
I’m still here but I may be the only one left as far as I know.
And I have the ice scraper that I made. (still works too!)
It won’t solve everything but the Blu-Dri works very well to clean smells out of the air separate from the Glowforge exhaust. At 500 CFM it moves a lot of air and I have used it even when my exhaust fan was failing.
