So I am about to lose my mind over what is probably a simple problem… We are trying to make a sign that reads “Grandkids” using Inkscape and using the Brush Script MT font… The problem is, the letters all have a cut area where it connects to the next letter so we are unable to cut it out in one piece. If someone that knows Inkscape could tell me what I’m doing wrong or how to do it, I would be forever grateful. Thanks a bunch.
Select text, convert to shapes, ungroup, and then union shapes. The overlaps will be merged and all will be well with the cut.
