I remember this thread from last year: Using Burlap string bags as a material?.
I remember because I thought doing something with burlap bags was such an interesting idea I bought some on spec. There they are, right over there on the shelf… Waiting… 
Not sure if anyone came up with something workable but let us know what you find!
