I actually hadn’t even considered that. The tricky part was my desired scale, getting 1/8” thick 12” wide stock is possible but fairly expensive, I think Ocooch sells maple that wide. Maybe a glue up, maybe a single piece, but you might be right about the painting.

I buy a lot of material from Ocooch, using 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and 15/16 material for my projects (mostly CNC, but more and more laser as well).
