The only other thing you need is any Ecowitt sensor receiver. They have many, from expensive ones with displays built in to simple USB-powered dongles. Those are what I recommend.
The blue receiver is the last model, the grey one is the updated version. For a few bucks more I would get the new one but I don’t think it has any major enhancements.
Once you get that gadget on your home wifi it sends your sensor info up to the cloud and you can monitor your sensors on ecowitt.net – including setting up alerts.
One base station can listen to 8x soil moisture sensors. If you need more, your account can handle more than one base station, too.
