Lasering Thick Foamcore

Step one - just open the lid. It kills the print.

I keep a little spray mister bottle of water right next to the machine. (Haven’t had to use it yet.)

Others have suggested a damp rag. (And a fire extinguisher just in case.)

Open lid
Throw in damp cloth overflame
Open front
Throw item onto bad neighbors yard

A number of people have bought Co2 extinguishers.

I keep a 5lb fire extinguisher within reach, but it’s really going to depend on the amount of energy locked up in what you’re lasering and how easy it can be released. Foam is kinda scary to me, but as regards paper and cardboard a damp cloth should do it if you are watching it and react right away.

i’m using 1/4" ish foamcore with settings of 160 speed, power 35%, 2 passes.
It’s doing ok for me. Yea i lose a maybe 2 mm of foam inside, but for what i need it’s ok
